As you have probably noticed, the contractor has started construction on the 17th Street Reconstruction project in Rapids City. Private utilities have been working on relocation and installations prior to now, and will continue to do so the next couple of weeks. The General Contractor is working on the road and utilities on top of the hill near 7th Avenue. With that, you will continue to see construction vehicles in the area as it relates to pavement removals, tree clearing and grubbing, and installation of utilities.
17th Street will remain closed to through traffic for the next few months with the Detour Route established as signed.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation and patience as these much needed improvements take place. Please travel slowly and safely around the construction site and within the Detour route for the safety of all.
